AMUware Linux lab installation manual

download amuware.tar.gz file from Downloads section
unpack archive with tar xfvz amuware.tar.gz into your directory, directory amuware will be created
change owner of directory amuware to user who will run amuware chown -R your_user_account:your_user_account amuware
install telnet package (needed to telnet to emulated devices) apt-get install telnet
go into to directory amuware and run java -jar amuware.jar from console

Java runtime environment JRE 1.6 is required
If you have Debian lenny Sun Java is part of non-free repository, so use apt-get install sun-java6-jre or:
add line deb sarge main contrib non-free into /etc/apt/ sources.list
apt-get update
download Java JRE from JRE6 Update 3
install java package with apt-get install java-common java-package
create Java package fakeroot make-jpkg /var/install/java/jre1.6.0/jre-6u3-linux-i586.bin (you must have gcc apt-get install gcc)
install deb package with dpkg -i sun-j2re1.6_1.6.0+update3_i386.deb

X-Window system with KDE
apt-get update
apt-get -u upgrade
apt-get -u dist-upgrade
apt-get install x-window-system-core kde kdm

IOS and PIX OS is not provided with software

Dynamips and Pemu
Dynamips and Pemu binaries are delivered together with amuware lab software to allow comfortable use of software
Amuware doesn't contain Dynamips and Pemu source code, binaries are delivered under terms of GNU GPL licence
